Cubby brings everything a law student needs into one place. Readings, outlines, case briefs, and exam prep that normally lives scattered across a dozen mediums.
I owned the entire experience from early vision to final execution across brand, product, web, and experiential design.
Starting Point
Fresh off a $2.75 million dollar seed round in early 2025 backed by Ludlow Ventures, Sam Hinkie, and PSUM Ventures, Cubby Law was on a mission to redefine the learning experience for law students across America.
Outcome
I started by listening. Dozens of calls with law students and alumni last summer helped me understand how they actually studied and the nuances in legal education that need even more attention to detail. That research shaped everything that followed. The brand needed to feel grounded in legal education so I pulled from the world a student already lives in: a crimson borrowed from law textbooks, a warm orange like that of a late night study lamp, paper white, and a soft willow green to tie it all together. The product had to solve the harder version of that problem: fit an entire course into one place without it becoming one more thing to feel buried by. The answer was the outline; the format every law student already trusts. We made it the spine of Cubby, then made every point in it interactive: quiz yourself on a single topic, read deeper on it, or sit a practice exam on the section your professor keeps stressing. Reading, briefs, quizzes, and exams all woven into the outline, so the whole semester held together instead of scattering.
